Spaces

A space is one question, the analyses that test it, and what you found. Use one whenever a report gives you an idea worth testing, or when you want every analysis on a slice of the data (one category, one market, one campaign) kept together.

What a space is

Spaces row on the workspace page: four space tiles with status, analysis count and Run first or Open
  • A question and a hypothesis. “Do bubble wrap buyers also need shipping boxes?” plus what you believe and what would prove it.
  • Analyses filed into it. Reports run inside a space carry its question and hypothesis as business context, and its filters if it has any.
  • A verdict. Confirmed, rejected or inconclusive, with one line on what you found, so nobody re-tests the same idea by accident.

A space belongs to one workspace. Its status follows what has happened in it:

Idea
Nothing run yet.
Testing
At least one analysis is in.
Done
A verdict has been recorded. The space page labels this Answered.

Create a space

Click New space at the top of the workspace. The dialog asks for three things:

Question
What this space should answer, in at least three words.
Hypothesis
One real sentence: We believe … We’ll know if … Required.
Scope (optional)
Filters every analysis in this space runs under. See below.

Start from fills the dialog for you. Five presets also attach a ready-to-run analysis: Repeat purchases, Gateway products, Top spenders, Win-back and Newest customers. Three presets marked with a filter icon set up a slice: One category, One market and A campaign window. Replace the bracketed part with your own words before saving.

Good to know

The hypotheses in a customer segments report and the rules in a market basket report make good starting questions. Copy the claim into the hypothesis field.

Filters

A space can narrow every analysis inside it to a slice of the data: a date range and any number of conditions on product, order value, quantity or your custom fields (category, market, channel).

  • Space filters apply on top of the analysis’s own filters. Date ranges overlap; conditions must all match.
  • They apply at every run, so re-runs and scheduled runs pick up changes. Reports run before a change say so and ask for a re-run.
  • A whole orders condition keeps every line of a matching order, so baskets stay intact. Use it for basket analysis on a category: you keep what was bought alongside.

Good to know

Filtering by market or category needs that column in your data. Map it as a custom field when you import.

The space page

Space page for a new idea: the question card with status, filters and context chips, an empty verdict card, a recommended analysis and Run first analysis
A new space created from a preset: the recommended analysis is ready to run with the space's filter.
  • The question card holds the question, the hypothesis and chips for status, analysis count, Context and Filters.
  • Verdict sits on the right until you record one.
  • Recommended analyses appear for spaces created from a preset. Run starts one; Dismiss removes it.
  • New analysis runs a report filed into this space. You can also move existing analyses in with Move to space on the analyses list.

The top bar has Edit, Pin, Archive and Delete. Deleting a space also deletes the analyses in it; archive it instead if you want to keep them.

The context note

Each space has one markdown note, up to 20,000 characters: what you are trying to learn, what you already know, constraints, and what you learned along the way. Start from template gives you those headings.

The assistant reads the note before answering questions about the space, and new analyses inherit it as their business context. Keep it short and factual: margins, stock limits, a campaign already running. It can also be read and updated from chat or over MCP.

Record a verdict

When the analyses are in, click Record verdict:

Confirmed
The analyses backed the idea. Act on it.
Rejected
The data did not support the idea. Park it.
Inconclusive
Not enough signal either way. Needs more data or a sharper test.

Add one line under What we found (up to 280 characters). The space moves to Done and stays in the list as the answer. You can reopen the question later.

Spaces on the workspace

The Spaces row appears above your analyses once the first space exists. It shows four tiles, with Show morefor the rest, and tabs to filter by status. The table view adds each space’s latest run and finding.

Tile labels

Verdict due
In Testing with no new run for two weeks. Time to decide.
Idle N weeks
An idea nobody has run yet.
Run first / Open
Start the first analysis, or open the space.

Pinned spaces come first, then those with a verdict due, then Testing, Idea and Done.
